This Special Issue is dedicated to scientific results developed within the NetCastPL4.0 Project, focusing on advanced modelling, simulation, and digital transformation of foundry processes.
The NetCastPL4.0 Project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon WIDERA 2023 programme under grant agreement No. 101159771.

Scope of the Special Issue
The Special Issue provides a platform for the dissemination of original research articles, reviews, and case studies addressing numerical methods, computational casting technologies, digital manufacturing, and data-driven process optimization in foundry engineering.
Publication Model
Manuscripts will be submitted throughout the entire year 2026 and published continuously as Online First Articles immediately after acceptance and final editorial processing.
At the end of 2026, all published contributions will be collected and formally published as a complete Special Issue:
