Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor). I have read Author's Statement Form and accepted all policies.
  • I confirm I used Journal's paper template to prepare submission.
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • In Comments to Editor, I presented list of contributing authors (First and Last Name, e-mail, affiliation, ORCID ID) in the correct order.

Author Guidelines

Manuscripts for publication by AGH University Press should conform to the following guidelines. 

  • As the paper are subject to double-blind review process, please REMOVE THE NAMES AND AFFILIATIONS OF THE AUTHORS from the submitted version of the paper. You will add authors' names, affiliation and ORCID ID before submitting the final version;
  • Assure high quality of English (do proof-reading if needed);
  • In Comments to Editors please make a list of all contributing authors: Last and First Names, their affiliations, e-mail and ORCID ID;
  • When entering article data into the Open Journal System, please include information of all authors of a given article. These data, in addition to the name and surname, include the affiliation, ORCID number and e-mail adress of each After submitting an article, it will not be possible to complete the data of other authors of the article in the system.
  • Length of the paper should not exceed 24 typed pages (figures and tables included).
  • The running text of the body of the paper should be followed by figures and tables, drawn on separate pages; their exact placement should be indicated on the left-hand margin.
  • Figures should be drawn clearly in black ink, printed or photocopied. Dense distribution of details in figures and tables should be avoided. Photographs, on glossy paper (9 by 13 cm or larger), should display sharp contrast. Figures, tables and photographs should be numbered according to their reference in text. Captions to figures, tables and photographs should be included on a separate sheet, headed with the title of the paper. 
  • Mathematical equations within the text should be written in separate lines, numbered consecutively (numbers within round brackets) on the right-hand side. Greek characters and symbols must be written out clearly. 
  • Reference to literature within the text should be given in square brackets. 
  • Summary (of 15-20 lines) and keywords should be submitted. 
  • The final submission (after acceptance) should include final verision of manuscript, as well as filled out, signed and scanned Consent to Publish.

For computer edited texts, please include a disc with a text file, giving the editor programme used (preferably Word). Illustrations should be edited in CorelDraw (*.cdr), Draw- Perfect (*.wpg) or in any other vector graphics form, e.g. HPGL, Encapsulated PostScript (*.eps), Computer Graphics Metafile (*.cgm) or bitmaps (*.tif, *.pcx). Authors using Word are requested to employ, as far as possible, text form of mathematical symbols, leaving graphics form for equations longer than a single line. The resolution of drawings and photo- graphs given should be at least 300 dpi; preferably they should be submitted as separate files (*.tif, *.pcx).
